Bush has a monthly subscription to reality and to US Weekly

August 22, 2007

We read the headline: “Bush Acknowledges Frustration in Iraq” and it struck us that we have seen something similar/identical in the past. A search on “Bush ackowledges” and “headlines” led to these findings. You can click on the headlines to be re-directed to the actual articles if that is your desire or whim.

Please note as of January 8, 2008 all these links are live. If they no longer work, someone has taken the articles off the web. Someone rewriting history or simply just taking down old articles. Lets decide later.

Bush’s Press Secretary and the media at large need to realize/implement that “acknowledge” and “ignore” are not synonyms with one another. They will need to start employing more accurate descriptors. Suggestions: Avoid, Brush-off, discount, EVADE, fail, NEGLECT, OMIT, OVERLOOK, slight, tune out, accept as a reality and do not anything to right the wrong… Take your pick. :)

Here’s hoping that the next president does something about what he acknowledges, that this war comes to an end soon and that we meet some really cool, hot girls that love to draw and are sweet.

  2. American attitudes on Iraq similar to Vietnam era

There are enormous differences between the war in Iraq and the one in Vietnam that defined a generation. The current conflict hasn’t lasted as long, taken nearly as many American lives or sparked the sort of anti-war movement that marked the ’60s and ’70s.
In Vietnam and Iraq, some of the reasons given for going to war were undercut over time. For Iraq, that includes the failure after the invasion to find weapons of mass destruction or clear, prewar ties to the al-Qaeda terrorist network. Then, as casualties mounted, support for both wars fell.
