Danny Went Viral: Rent-A-Mex and Bloc Party Banquet

August 29, 2007

Not Racist or a Fast Eater

I forgot that I did this. I did not write it and only lent 5 minutes of my time to it several years ago, but it surfaced a few months ago on Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy and Adam Mckay’s website FUNNY OR DIE and has since been Walking Tall. It had the most comments for a while and was one of the most viewed/favorited/highest rated for some time. Not so much anymore. The short, Rent-A-Mex has been viewed 423,919 times as of today. Not quite viral, but nothing to sneeze at either.

The short was shot by Justin Havlik and its not racist. Again I did not write this one. So direct all postive words, ire or boredom towards Justin. One more time: Not racist. Enjoy. [funnyordie=http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/142]
Please click Rent-A-Mex to be redirected to the clip. Thank you.

Also, act now and have a small meal at a diner with someone you love.

Bush has a monthly subscription to reality and to US Weekly

August 22, 2007

We read the headline: “Bush Acknowledges Frustration in Iraq” and it struck us that we have seen something similar/identical in the past. A search on “Bush ackowledges” and “headlines” led to these findings. You can click on the headlines to be re-directed to the actual articles if that is your desire or whim.

Please note as of January 8, 2008 all these links are live. If they no longer work, someone has taken the articles off the web. Someone rewriting history or simply just taking down old articles. Lets decide later.

Bush’s Press Secretary and the media at large need to realize/implement that “acknowledge” and “ignore” are not synonyms with one another. They will need to start employing more accurate descriptors. Suggestions: Avoid, Brush-off, discount, EVADE, fail, NEGLECT, OMIT, OVERLOOK, slight, tune out, accept as a reality and do not anything to right the wrong… Take your pick. :)

Here’s hoping that the next president does something about what he acknowledges, that this war comes to an end soon and that we meet some really cool, hot girls that love to draw and are sweet.

The Contest(s)

August 15, 2007

The Apiary ran a contest back in June.

*We’re big opponents of effort here, so let’s keep it simple. Anyone into contests? Here is your inspiration: below is a photo of a feral Louis C.K. adrift in a lush meadow, harnessing the power of a dog in a slinky t-shirt.

louisck.jpg

Please use this blank t-shirt template to describe what is likely written on the dog’s shirt. Send in your completed jpg to theapiary@gmail.com. The most amusing t-shirts will win a copy of Shameless, which is available in stores everywhere!

Well, they must not have got many submissions…. because me and some other guy won! (mine is the smelly asshole… ) In addition to the contest being posted on The Apiary’s fine website, it was also publicized on the Comedy Central Insider’s Website (see for yourself here).

I didn’t win a brand new car or a years supply of taco shells, where was I, hmm, oh yeah, I won a new Louis CK DVD. Thanks Apiary (and CC insider(and Louis CK))!

I love Louis CK. Years ago, when he toured around the country he used to sell dvd’s called LOUIS CK’S COLLECTION OF SHORTS (Rick Shapiro links to one of the shorts ,”Brunch” here). I am not sure if Louis still sells the DVD or if its a collectors item. It was hilarious and if I remember correctly Todd Berry was in couple of them as well.

I have an idea. If you are interested in my copy of LOUIS CK’S COLLECTION OF SHORTS just compete in this contest. Please use this blank t-shirt template to describe what is likely written on Mr. T’s T-shirt.

Nah, forget it. That idea seems too familiar for some reason. Find your own copy*.

*I would be happy to share.

UPDATE: More recently we have called off the engagement and I have moved out.

Nut Sack Chair. Opposite of engadgement

This nutsack chair is not an item from crate and barrel. However the items below are really for sale. Please leave a comment if interested.

We purchased a good amount of crate and barrel items about 4 months ago. Everything is in top condition and was used very little. We did the majority of the arguing away from the new furniture.

One of the pieces is Pettrie Chair and ottoman from Crate and Barrel. We purchased the chair for $899 and the ottoman for 499$. I am willing to part with both for $1100 or best offer. The description for the furntiure is below.

Pettrie ChairPetry Ottoman

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

PS. The furniture is not cursed and will no way lead to the end of your current relationship.

Petrie Chair

It was the most familiar furniture shape of the 1960s. And now it’s coming back to a living room near you. This time around, it has tufted and buttoned cushions for a more classic, tailored look that sits deep and firm, but lets you slouch in comfort. It’s brave enough to make a comeback in white, thanks to a new stain-repellant system that’s actually in each fiber. Petrie is authentically styled light and lean with slim top-stitched track arms and delicate, tapered hardwood legs with an espresso finish.

After you place your order, we will send a fabric swatch via next day air for your final approval. We will contact you to verify both your receipt and approval of the fabric swatch before finalizing your order.

Dans Dans Les Médias or Dans in the News

August 10, 2007

Carrellposter1.jpg

Because this site is dedicated to Daniels, Dannys, Dans and Danielles all over this great world, we would be remiss if we weren’t one of the first to post the poster for

DAN IN REAL LIFE.

It stars some guy named Steve who will be playing the title character of Dan. I am not sure if he is also refered to as Danny, Daniel or even Danielle in the movie, but when that information becomes available, we will share it with you.

If it is about Dan in real life, then expect intriuge, espionage and sofas. Also a segment about how he loooooves Mac and Cheese and Nightmare Before Christmas, how he would love to get a dog and is actively looking for more income. That, of course, is only if it is really about Dan… in real life.

Danny Went Viral: The Amazing Hypnotist and Redux

August 9, 2007

Image Touched Up By www.pikifx.com

(The picture above has nothing to do with the article below. Notta. ATL Represent)

Not a viral disease, but a catchy clip that has been viewed by lots and lots of people. The first installment of “Danny Went Viral” is comprised of two YouTube Clips. The Amazing Hypnotist and The Amazing Hypnotist: Redux.

I am a sometime member of the collective Improv Everywhere. A group in New York City that causes scenes, that pulls the wool over peoples eyes and taps people on the shoulder (and vanishes) but never has a reveal. For a comprehensive report of the missions you should go to IE website and enjoy.

The 1st Amazing Bit

We have done this bit 4 times. Once was for Dan Powell over at comedy central, once for John Stossel at 20/20 on Abc, the first time for Improv Everywhere solely and the last time was for Jesus Christ… no… satan… I can’t remmeber the guys name.

Anyway, THE AMAZING HYPNOTIST has been viewed 117,742 times and REDUX has been viewed 1,202,584 times. That is crazy. Enjoy and be sure to check out the Improv Everywhere website for more orignal pranks. I took part in LOOK UP MORE (which is featured this week in a TIMEOUT article found here), Synchronized Swimming, and Ted’s Birthday.
